Dr. Elmer Bray was born 16 Sep 1861 Gloucester, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, and practicing physician at Swampscott, Massachusetts, for forty years. He was a specialist in pneumonia, with a method of his own, and is said never to have lost a case, when called early. He was a Free Mason of the 32nd degree, held the Swampscott Post Office at one time; had a drug store for many years; and served on the Swampscott School Committee.
